Features

Ticket widget, inbox and signed identity work together

The customer's widget, the team's inbox, internal notes, reports and the CRM link in one module.

  • Separate ticket widget

A product of its own, separate from the live chat widget: its own install line, button and look. It opens in an iframe; title, greeting, colour, position and button label are set in the settings.

  • My requests

Customers list the tickets they opened in the widget, see their status and reply; new replies arrive with an unread marker. A new request takes a subject and a message, plus a category and attachments when enabled.

  • Logged-in users are recognised

Your site signs the logged-in user with your secret key and passes them to the widget. The user doesn't log in again and sees the same tickets on their phone and their computer.

  • Anonymous visitors carry on too

A visitor who isn't logged in keeps their session in that browser; when they come back, their tickets are still there. If you prefer, the widget opens only for users who arrive with a signed identity.

  • Replies by email too

When an email server is configured, the agent's reply goes to the requester's email; a signed, time-limited link in the email opens the ticket. Without one, replies show in the widget.

  • Inbox and views

Assigned to me, Unassigned, Open, Awaiting customer, Solved and All; each view shows its ticket count. Status, priority, category and assignee change on the ticket page, and every change is logged in the conversation.

  • Internal notes

The team talks on the ticket with internal notes. An internal note never appears in the widget, in email or on the customer's ticket page.

  • Attachments

Customers and agents attach files to messages (up to 10 MB per file). Attachments are never served from a public address; they open through a signed, time-limited link.

  • Satisfaction rating

A solved ticket asks the customer for a 1–5 rating and an optional comment; the average shows in reports.

  • Reports

Tickets created and solved per day, average first response and resolution time; breakdowns by status, priority, category and agent.

  • Auto-assignment and CRM

New tickets are assigned in turn to agents who can reply to tickets. With the CRM module on, the requester is linked to a CRM contact and the contact's tickets are listed in the CRM.

  • Next to Live Chat

Both widgets work together on the same site: quick questions go to live chat, work that needs follow-up becomes a ticket. Each is managed from its own screen in the app.

Ticket widget

Customers follow their requests in the widget

The button in the corner of your site opens the widget. Customers list their tickets, read replies, write back and rate a solved ticket.

  • Ticket numbers count up within your company; customers see each ticket by its number.
  • New replies arrive with an unread marker; while the widget is closed, the button shows the number of new replies.
  • The widget's language comes from the setting or the visitor's browser: Turkish or English.
  • Allowed domains: if you want, the widget opens only on your own sites.

The install line is specific to your company; you copy it in the app under Helpdesk → Settings → Widget.

Signed identity

Customers logged in on your site don't log in again

Your site says who the user is and signs it with a secret key; VOLTR verifies the signature. Only your server and VOLTR know the secret key.

  1. Your site names the user

It writes the user's ID, email and name on the install line; a single-page app passes the same details with JavaScript.

  2. Your server signs it

The signature is computed on your server: HMAC-SHA256(secret key, user ID), or the email when there's no ID. The secret key never reaches the browser.

  3. VOLTR verifies it

If the signature matches, the widget recognises the user and shows the same tickets on every device; tickets opened anonymously in that browser move over to them. If it doesn't match, no session is opened.

data-voltr-user-id="42" data-voltr-user-email="[email protected]" data-voltr-user-name="Emma Clarke" data-voltr-user-hash="5f2b9c…e41a07"

When the user logs out of your site, call VoltrSupport.logout(); the widget forgets the session in that browser. The secret key is created in the app and shown only once.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How is it different from live chat?

Live chat is for answering a question right now; an agent has to be online. A support ticket is for work that needs follow-up: the customer opens a request, the reply comes later, and the ticket is tracked by its status until it's solved. The two widgets are separate products.

Can customers see internal notes?

No. Internal notes are for the team only; they are never sent to the widget, the customer's ticket page or email.

How are users logged in on our site recognised?

Your site signs the user's ID (or their email if there's no ID) with your secret key (HMAC-SHA256) and passes it to the widget. If VOLTR verifies the signature, it recognises the user: they don't log in again and see the same tickets on every device. The secret key is created in the app, shown only once and never put in the browser.

What happens without email set up?

Tickets still work: customers see replies in the widget, and new replies arrive with an unread marker. Once an email server is configured, reply emails start on their own; internal notes never go into email.

Where is ticket data stored?

Tickets, conversations and attachments live in your company's own database; companies can't see each other's data. Your data is not sold and not shared with third parties for advertising or marketing. Helpdesk uses no AI. If you prefer, you can host VOLTR on your own servers.

Can I use it together with live chat?

Yes. The two widgets work together on the same site with their own install lines; you place the ticket widget in the bottom-right or bottom-left corner. Your account also opens with the free Live Chat plan.
