Messaging channels

Every message in one inbox

Live chat, WhatsApp and Telegram work today. The goal is to manage every channel your customers write on from the same login, with the same rules.

Channels

One login, three channels

All three channels are available, each with its own inbox and the same login and permission structure.

  • Live Chat

    Available

A widget added to your website with one line of script; agent console, automatic routing and supervisor board.

  • WhatsApp

    Available

Meta's official WhatsApp Business API: its own inbox, the 24-hour reply window, approved template messages, assignment, read/delivered receipts and contact blocking.

  • Telegram

    Available

Your Telegram bot and the Telegram account you connect to it with Chat Automation: its own inbox, assignment, sending and receiving files, contact blocking; all you need to connect is the bot token.

Goal

Managed from one place

New channels are being added on top of today's live chat infrastructure. The items below describe the target behaviour.

  • One inbox

Live chat, WhatsApp and Telegram messages in one list; each row shows its channel with an icon.

  • Shared routing

Department, capacity, working hours and holiday rules are the same on every channel; messages go to an available agent.

  • Shared permissions

Agents only see the channels and departments they're allowed to; the permission structure stays as it is today.

  • One customer card

Whichever channel they write from, the customer is linked to the same CRM record; the conversation history is in one place.

  • Shared canned responses

Canned responses, tags and closing reasons are the same on every channel; the team defines them once.

  • One board and report

The supervisor board and reports show channels together and can be split by channel.

Today

Infrastructure that works today

New channels build on these; a team that starts with live chat today won't have to rebuild its rules.

  • Multi-chat agent console, internal notes and transfers
  • Department, capacity, working-hours and holiday rules
  • Canned responses, tags and closing reasons
  • CRM support tickets and leads from chats
  • Supervisor board, reports and CSV
  • Events sent to your own systems with signed webhooks
  • WhatsApp Business (official Meta API): 24-hour window, approved templates, read/delivered receipts
  • WhatsApp setup from VOLTR: the app subscription and number registration are done in the panel
  • Telegram bot and the Telegram account connected to it: inbox, assignment, sending and receiving files
  • Telegram connected account: linked under Settings → Chat Automation (no Premium needed); replies on the account's behalf to people who wrote in the last 24 hours, read receipts sent to Telegram
  • Contact blocking: a blocked contact's messages never reach VOLTR and they can't be messaged; on WhatsApp a contact who wrote in the last 24 hours is also blocked on Meta's side, on Telegram the block lives in VOLTR
  • A smooth inbox: a sent message shows up instantly and is retried if it fails; new messages arrive without making the scroll jump

FAQ

Messaging questions

How does WhatsApp connect?

Through Meta's official WhatsApp Business (Cloud) API: you enter your business number's Meta details once, and VOLTR subscribes the app to your account and registers the number (6-digit PIN) from the panel. Messages land in the WhatsApp inbox in VOLTR; outside the 24-hour window you write with Meta-approved templates.

How does Telegram connect?

You enter the token of the bot you created with @BotFather into VOLTR, and VOLTR sets up the rest. If you also connect a Telegram account to the bot under Settings → Chat Automation (no Premium needed), messages to that account land in the same inbox; replies on the account's behalf go to chats where the person wrote in the last 24 hours. By Telegram's rules a bot can't message someone first; the person has to start the bot.

Can we block an unwanted contact?

Yes, from the contact panel or the contacts table. A blocked contact's messages never reach VOLTR, their open conversations are closed and they can't be messaged. On WhatsApp, if the contact wrote in the last 24 hours they're also blocked on Meta's side; on Telegram the block lives in VOLTR. You can lift the block at any time.

What happens if we start with live chat now?

New channels are designed to join the same console; agents, departments, canned responses and rules stay the same.

Will we use a separate app for WhatsApp?

No. WhatsApp works on the same VOLTR login screen with its own inbox; permissions come from the same role structure.

Which channels do you message on?

Live Chat opens right away with your free account; you add WhatsApp and Telegram from the Subscription section in the app.
